Bolivia : Salar of Uyuni - 4 Days

In the southwest of the department of Potosí, in the provinces Quijarro, Daniel Campos, and Nor and Sur Lipez, is Salar De Uyuni. It covers a surface area of 10.582 km2 and is located 3653m A.B.S.L. Uyuni Salt is the largest single salt pan in the world. It is estimated to contain 10 Billion tons of salt of which only 25,000 tons are extracted anually.
Uyuni is so vast and so flat, (it rises and falls just one metre over an area the size of Wales), that N.A.S.A use the flats to calibrate their satelites.
The Salar De Uyuni is also an integral part of the plot line in the latest James Bond movie "Quantum of Solace".
This is the farthest away from Earth you will feel while you still have feet on this Planet!

DAY 1 CHIAR KHOTA
Departure from La Paz at 08:00 by car. You will start with a small trek to Chiar Khota lagoon (4630m.) where you will camp.

DAY 2 PEQ. ALPAMAYO
Departure at 05:00 am. We start the climb to Tarija's pick (5300m.) You will then continue to the Pequeño Alpamayo. On the way you will pass a rocky area and shortly after that you will reach the summit ( 5350 m .). Descent will be by the same route. It takes 5 hours approx.

DAY 3 ILUSION PICK
Departure at 05:00 am. This peak is over the 5350m. The ascent will take 4 hours approx. Descent will be early in the afternoon. Free afternoon to prepare for the attempt to Condor Head.

DAY 1
Departure from La Paz at 08:00. After 2 hours driving we arrive to Zongo Lagoon (4750m.) From this point we climb till high camp (5130m.) This will take approx 3 hours.

DAY 2
At 01:00am We will prepare equipment and leave the high camp towards the summit (north pick 6088 m .). It takes 5 to 6 hours approx.
From the summit you will have a fantastic view of the Real range.
Descend to the high camp. Rest and then continue to the Zongo lagoon to take the car. Arrival to La Paz.

Iceland : Sprenisandur - Traverse of the Icelandic highlands

10-day cross-country- (nordic-) ski tour with pulkas / sledges

Total walking distance: 220 km (137 miles)
Altitude: 600-1100 m (1950-3600 feet)
Maximum ascent: 900 m (2900 feet)

This ski tour is a beautiful traverse of the Icelandic highlands by the ancient route of Sprengisandur that is situated between the Hofsjökull and Vatnajökull glaciers. Wide-open spaces and impressive landscape along with unpredictable weather conditions make this tour quite challenging.

Mountaineering in the Azerbaijan Caucasus

Even if you're not a real mountaineer Caucasus offers some fabulous climbs. You'll need an experienced guide (reckon on approx /day), one or two porters/camp guards (/day), horse for for load (/day) and good weather as there is no shelter on the flinty upper slopes.

Climbing Shahdag ('King's mountain', 4243m) takes you along a relatively narrow ledge and up a glacier for which crampons and an ice axe are normally necessary. The final stretch is somewhat anticlimactic except for the little Lenin statues at the summit, but the views from base camp are stunning. Coming via Laza you'll typically need four days from Baku. Driving via Xinaliq it is just about possible in 48 hours given perfect weather, but 3-4 days is normal. The same goes for Tufan Dag ('hurricane mountain', 4191m), climbed from the north, starting nearby. Tufan Dag's elegant triangular peak is unusual in having a small lake way up above the tree line at 3800m. Three sub-peaks to the west at about the same altitude there is a grave and some animal bones which may mark the site of the now vanished Hun village of Askikand.

With a high summit of 5610.27 meters, Damavand is the highest mountain peak in Iran located almost in the center of Alborz mountain range. Damavand peak is situated in Larijan district, southwest of Amol and 69 Kilometers northeast of Tehran. Moreover, there are a lake named Lar, suitable for fishing and so many mineral water springs. When the sky is clear and sunny, Damavand can be seen from Tehran and other cities such as Amol, Sari, Qom & Kashan.
