Your tour includes:
- pick up is made directly at your hotel between 7:30 am and 9:00 am in our comfortable 20 passenger trucks with experienced drivers and official tour guides.
- we begin our excursion on a Western route towards Cofresi, where our first stop will be the mangroves where the guide will give a brief description of this landmark and the importance to our coastline. Here the first welcome drink is offered.
- we continue on our trek along the coast passing local public schools and fishing villages until we reach Bahia de Maimon. Here a brief explanation of the history of this area is given.
- a short distance away, a brief stop at a local school where Puerto Plata Runners will be donating from sales of hats and t-shirts. Clients will be allowed only on the outside of school property and the guide will explain about our education system and also the importance of baseball in the Dominican Republic.
- we continue through a rugged, mountain road with an amazing view of Puerto Plata about 110 meters above sea level. Witness the variety of ecosystems - from palm trees to majestic mango trees to prickly cactus'. Stop at a typical country home where you can interact with the family living here and have the opportunity to witness the culture and way of life of the local people. Bathroom facilities are available here. Coffee made from their locally grown beans will be offered.
Dominican Republic: Las Terrenas Full Day Adventure

This tour is especially designed for cruise ship passengers arriving at the La Romana Port and for those hotels guest who don't want to spend a full day away from the beach but yet want to experience the Dominican people, culture and shopping priced for locals.
This cultural adventure takes you on a sightseeing tour of the city of La Romana and its surroundings in comfortable "safari-style" open-top trucks. See and feel the lifestyle and friendliness of the local people, visit the largest sugar cane plantation in the country where you can taste freshly cut sugar cane and learn about this amazing industry. Then, sightsee the largest collection of orchids and cactus in the Dominican Republic. From there, visit a cigar factory where you will see the world-renowned Dominican cigars being made. For souvenirs, we will be taken to a gift shop where you are greeted with a Mama Juana Welcome Drink, sample fresh exotic fruit, browse around and shop for approx 45 min. before returning to the pier.
