St. Vincent and the Grenadines: Historical Sightseeing Tour

Let us take you on a historical tour around Kingstown, the capital of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Many buildings date back to the 19th century. The Cobblestone Inn was built in 1813, and it is believed that King JaJa of Opobo in Africa lived there when he was in exile in 1888. The Police Station, Court House, Methodist Church, St. George's Cathedral and the Cathedral of the Assumption are all in close proximity; each holds stories of the history and culture of the people.

Visit Fort Charlotte, 600 ft. above sea level, with its display of Linzee Prescott paintings, which depict various aspects of the Black Carib history. The lighthouse gives a panoramic view of Kingstown and the Grenadines islands.

We proceed on to the Botanic Gardens, oldest in the Western Hemisphere, founded in 1765 on 30 acres of land. See rare and exotic plants and trees, including one descendant of the breadfruit tree brought over by Captain Bligh of Mutiny and the Bounty fame.
